4kg of cannabis found concealed in vacuum cleaner

A MAN has been charged after police allegedly found four kilograms of cannabis in his car during a traffic stop near Townsville.

Police said they intercepted a vehicle containing two men on Alligator Creek Road, just south of Alligator Creek, shortly before 7pm on Thursday.

During a search of the car, police allegedly found four kilograms of cannabis stuffed inside an industrial sized vacuum cleaner in the car boot.

Officers also allegedly found a grinder and a vapour machine in the boot.

One of the men, a 32-year-old from Little Mountain, was arrested and charged with possessing dangerous drugs and utensils.

He is due to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court on April 12.
