4WD passenger killed in crash on NSW highway

A MAN has been killed after the 4WD he was in veered off a highway and struck a tree in country NSW.

The 29-year-old man was a passenger in a Toyota Hilux which crashed on the Mitchell Highway around 8km west of Narromine just before 6am on Sunday.

Sadly, the 29-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries and could not be saved. He died at the scene.


The driver, a 19-year-old man, was first taken to Narromine Hospital for mandatory drug and alcohol testing before being transferred to Dubbo Base Hospital for further assessment.

Police from Orana Local Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Anyone who witnessed the moment of impact or moments leading up to the collision is urged to come forward.
