While it may have been a quieter night for Gold Coast police, Queensland Ambulance Paramedics were kept busy with more than 95 schoolies requiring treatment.
Police said that despite a large crowd converging in the Surfers Paradise CBD for day six of schoolies celebrations, there were only six schoolies charged with nine offences – again, mainly drug and alcohol related.
“There were six schoolies charged with nine offences overnight relating to drug and public nuisance offences with two schoolies given liquor infringement notices for drinking in a public place,” Police said in a statement.

“Of the schoolies arrested all six were males.”
It was a different story for paramedics and Queensland Health staff however, with 96 teens needing treatment and 13 requiring transport to hospital.
