71-year-old man has tooth knocked out, leg broken in brutal attack

AN elderly man is missing a tooth and nursing a broken leg after being punched to the ground in a savage attack north of Brisbane.

The 71-year-old man was fishing at a beach in Clontarf on Saturday afternoon when he was bailed up by an aggressive unleashed dog.

Police said the gentleman prodded the dog with a fork in an attempt to scare it off but was instead attacked by its owner.

The dog’s owner allegedly walked up to the 71-year-old man and punched him in the face, knocking out one of his teeth.

The elderly man then collapsed to the ground and broke his leg.

He was taken to Redcliffe Hospital for treatment.

Police are now appealing for help to track down his attacker.
