72yo man on mobility scooter charged with indecently assaulting two girls

A 72-year-old man has been charged with indecently assaulting two young girls at a shopping centre in Sydney.

Police said the girls, aged 15 and 14, were performing promotional activities inside the centre on Park Road in Hurtsville about 6pm on Sunday when they were approached by a man on a mobility scooter.

The man allegedly indecently assaulted both of the girls before members of the public noticed what was going on and stepped in.


The man then left the scene before officers arrived.

After reviewing CCTV footage, police arrested a 72-year-old man at a home in Hurstville later on Sunday night.

He was charged with two counts of indecent assault and given bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court on 5 December.
