THE Gold Coast SUNS have named a six-man leadership group, led by star Gary Ablett Jr.
Fellow senior players Nathan Bock and Michael Rischitelli are on board as vice-captains, with young guns Tom Lynch, Dion Prestia and David Swallow to also hold deputy duties.
The SUNS website reports, the six leaders were chosen by their peers – in consultation with coaching staff and administration.

SUNS Senior Coach, Guy McKenna said the players selected represented a true reflection of the playing group’s on-going growth.
“We have been really pleased with the way our playing group has evolved throughout our establishment,” McKenna said.
“Our experienced guys, like Gary, Nathan and Michael, have had a huge task in not just establishing and growing our club but also our players, and for us now to be in a position to elevate some of our inaugural season debutants into the leadership group can be attributed to their great work,”he added.
“Tom, Dion and David have earned their positions in our leadership group, throughout their time with the club they have demonstrated that they have the capabilities of taking this club forward both on and off the field.”
“We have a number of players continuing to develop their leadership qualities and I have no doubt that the boys elevated today will be joined by a number of their peers in the seasons to come.”
