Accused Bourke Street driver pleads not guilty
The man accused of killing six people and injuring dozens more when he ploughed a car into crowds in Melbourne’s CBD has pleaded not guilty to a string of murder and attempted murder charges.
James Gargasoulas made the pleas via video link at Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday.
The 27-year-old has been charged with six counts of murder and 28 counts of attempted murder as well as a range of other offences over the January 20 rampage.
He has been remanded in custody to appear before Victoria’s Supreme Court for a directions hearing on Monday.
