Accused stalker on the run between Brisbane and the Gold Coast

POLICE are providing protection to the alleged victims of a man accused of stalking, after he failed to show up to court.

John Amundsen (pictured below) was supposed to face the Brisbane Magistrates Court on three counts of stalking on Monday.

He was on bail, but a warrant for his arrest has now been issued and Police are concerned he is actively avoiding them.

In a statement released on Saturday, it was confirmed the 53-year-old was last seen at an address in Aspley a week ago.

“He may be travelling in a silver 2005 Toyota Prado station wagon (pictured) with cancelled registration 690LUI,” Police explained in the release.

“He (is) likely to be sleeping in this car in public spaces and parkland at unknown locations between the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast.

“Preliminary investigations indicate he may be using public transport to travel around Brisbane and between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.”

Mr Amundsen is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 170cm tall, of a slim build with a shaved head and blue eyes. He sometimes has grey facial hair. He may also be wearing glasses.
