Accused Sydney stabber out of hospital, will be charged today

The man accused of carrying out a stabbing rampage in Sydney’s CBD on Tuesday has been released from hospital.

20-year-old Mert Ney was being treated in Prince Alfred Hospital for injuries sustained during the attack in the heart of the city.

He’s accused of fatally stabbing 24-year-old Michaela Dunn in a Clarence St apartment after going there for “business purposes”.


A 41-year-old woman was stabbed in the shoulder a short time later.

Ney has been taken to Surry Hills Police Station where he is currently being questioned by detectives.

He’s expected to be charged this afternoon.
