Actor shot by ‘live bullet’ in Old West duel

AN ACTOR has been rushed to hospital, after being shot with a live bullet during an Old West street gunfight.

Members of the Tombstone Vigilantes gathered in the Arizona town of Tombstone in the US on Sunday to re-enact a duel before about 1000 tourists.

It’s believed actor Tom Carter arrived late for the showdown and did not hand over his gun to be checked.

“When Tom Carter fired his gun, Ken Curtis fell to the ground,” Tombstone marshall Bob Randall explains. “He was shot in the lower groin area.”

Pretend gunfights in the town have now been suspended while Mr Curtis has had surgery and is expected to make a full recovery.
