TODAY is National Bilby Day, with Dreamworld naming its newest bilby after Gold Coast golfer Adam Scott.
The world number two golfer will donate $100 for every birdie he makes during the Australian PGA Championships on the Gold Coast in December.
“I’m hoping that lending my name to this great project will assist in spreading the word to Save Our Bilbies,” he said.

“The more knowledge we share and the more help we get, the more chance there is of saving a unique part of the Australian wildlife identity”.
The much admired bilby has become a native Australian Easter icon but is facing serious threats, with potentially fewer than 400 to 600 animals are left in the wild in Queensland.
Over 20 million feral cats now call Australia home and they could be killing more than 75 million of our native animals every 24 hours.
