Adam Scott joint runner up in Australian Masters

ADAM Scott has lost his world No.2 ranking after a disappointing Australian Masters.

Scott was overtaken by Henrik Stenson, who took the title in the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai, jumping from fourth to second.

But – Scott still finished as joint runner up in the Masters, with South Australia’s Nick Cullen taking the Gold Jacket.

A slight silver lining for the Aussie golfer could be the fact Stenson had to beat world No.1 Rory McIlroy to do so.

The Australian Open kicks of this week in Sydney, where Scott and McIlroy go head-to-head.

Scott flew to Sydney from Melbourne on Sunday night where he will begin preparations for the Open.
