Adelaide teen fighting for life after collapsing with heatstroke

A teenage apprentice builder is fighting for his life after collapsing at a construction site during Adelaide’s extreme heatwave.

The 17-year-old is reported to have worked for three days in the blazing heat when he fell ill on Wednesday and was rushed unconscious to hospital due to heat stroke.

SafeWork SA is allegedly investigating the incident, with employers warned not to put their workers at risk during high temperatures.

Adelaide’s temperature reached 42.9C on Thursday afternoon  and today is set to reach 42 degrees.
