ADF officer and hotel guest fined $1,000 for breaching Covid rules
An ADF member has been issued a PIN, after entertaining a guest while in hotel quarantine in Sydney.
The 26-year-old had recently returned from overseas deployment, and was in quarantine at a hotel along Hickson Road.
ADF officers, who were conducting security for the hotel, overhead a woman’s voice in the man’s room around 12.45am.
After inquiries, the woman was escorted from the hotel’s quarantine area and police were contacted.
The 53-year-old woman is believed to have been a guest staying at the hotel.
Police were called in to investigate, before issuing both the man and woman with a PIN for $1,000.
The woman was made to check out immediately. She will be made to get a COVID test, and then self isolate at her Hornsby home.
The man remains in quarantine, with investigations continuing.
