AFLW Grand Final: Bulldogs beat Lions by a goal
The Western Bulldogs have claimed the second AFL Women’s grand final, beating the Brisbane Lions by just one goal in a thrilling match at Princes Park.
Despite the Lions heading into the sheds at half-time with a six-point lead, the Bulldogs managed to bring it home.
After remaining goalless in the first half, the Bulldogs claimed three six-pointers in the third quarter and a fourth in the final stand to edge out the Lions 4.3 (27) to 3.3 (21).
Sophie Conway kicked the first goal of the game to give Brisbane the edge, but the side didn’t contribute another until the final quarter when Conway again made the score sheet, along with Jess Wuetschner.
