AFP conduct major operation outside Australian nuclear centre

UPDATE: NEW South Wales police have issued a statement on the happenings in Lucas Heights.

“NSW Police received calls earlier this afternoon regarding two vehicles near a Commonwealth facility at Lucas Heights,” the statement said.

“Enquiries were conducted with a number of persons by NSW Police and Australian Federal Police officers.


“Following those inquiries, all occupants of the vehicles were allowed to leave.”

THERE are reports this afternoon that the Australian Federal Police are conducting a major operation at Australia’s national nuclear centre in New South Wales.

It’s understood a squad of AFP officers swooped on the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation in the southern Sydney suburb of Lucas Heights on Monday morning.

Details of the operation remain unknown, however news helicopters have spotted several men dressed in robes appearing to be praying on the roadside.

There is no further information available at this time.
