Aged care employee charged over shocking assault on elderly woman

A WOMAN has been charged over an alleged assault on an elderly woman at an aged care facility in Sydney’s North West.

Police allege that around 6.00pm on Tuesday 22 August, the 58-year-old female employee entered the room of the patient at an aged care facility on Norfolk Road in Epping.

“The woman allegedly assaulted an 85-year-old woman,” officers said in a statement.


Following ongoing investigations, detectives yesterday arrested the 58-year-old woman at Ryde Police Station and charged her with four counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and five counts of common assault.

She was granted conditional bail and is due to appear before Burwood Local Court on Thursday 2 November.

Police say inquiries are continuing.
