Alarm triggered at Broadbeach high rise after car bursts into flames

Emergency services have rushed to Broadbeach this morning, after a car burst into flames in a high rise carpark.

It happened in the basement of the Avani building along the Gold Coast Highway around 6.30am.

The flames set off the building’s alarm which triggered the 000 call, reports Queensland Fire and Emergency Services.

But it’s unclear if the whole building had to be evacuated or not.

Fire fighters had the blaze under control by 7.00am, with paramedics and police also on scene.

No injuries have been reported just yet.

Hello,

Just to let you know it was actually a bag of wet linen in the back of a car that started to smoke causing a small fire on the ground but produced alot of smoke.

This information is incorrect
