An urgent recall of Woolworths frozen prawns has now been extended to include all states, except Queensland.
The recall of Woolworths Cooked & Peeled Cocktail Prawns 1kg was issued by Food Standards Australia on Wednesday morning.
It initially included stores in Victoria, South Australia, the Northern Territory and Western Australia.

However it was extended overnight, with another three states now included.
“This recall has been extended to include distribution to Woolworths stores in NSW, TAS and the ACT,” Food Standards Australia said.

There’s fears the prawns, which have a best before date of 22 February 2022, may have potential microbial contamination.
“Food products with potential microbial contamination may cause illness if consumed,” the recall notice said.
“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice and should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.”
