Alleged bikie associate nabbed in Surfers Paradise drug raid

AN alleged bikie associate has been arrested in Surfers Paradise following a drug raid in the heart of the schoolies precinct.

Detectives from Taskforce Maxima executed a search warrant on an apartment on Wahroonga Place on Tuesday.

During a search of the apartment, officers allegedly located a stash of dangerous drugs, including cocaine, amphetamine, Xanax tablets and Viagara.

A 26-year-old man was charged with two counts of possessing dangerous drug and one count each of possess utensil and possess restricted drug.

Police allege the man is an associate of the Finks outlaw motorcycle gang.

The raid formed part of ongoing an ongoing operation targeting the production and supply of dangerous drugs by bikies and their associates on the Gold Coast.

 

The 26-year-old man is due to front Southport Magistrates Court on 6 December.

Taskforce Maxima Detective Inspector Phillip Stevens said Tuesday’s raid and subsequent arrest proved that bikies were still dealing in dangerous drugs.

“This is another example of OMCGs dealing in dangerous drugs,” Det. Insp. Stevens said.

“Taskforce Maxima will continue to be relentless in our pursuit to target those that take part in criminal activities, particularly in light of current end of school activities being conducted on the Gold Coast.”
