Alleged child sex offender re-arrested as more victims come forward

AN alleged child sex offender has been re-arrested in southern NSW and charged with an additional 10 offences, including rape, after two more alleged victims came forward.

The 55-year-old man was first arrested in Queanbeyan in September last year following an investigation into the alleged sexual assaults of two children in Goulburn between the mid-1980s and early 1990s.

At the time, the man was charged with two counts of aggravated indecent assault – victim under authority for the offences which allegedly took place in 1992.

Following further investigations, Strike Force detectives arrested the man again last month after two more alleged victims came forward.

He has since been charged with an additional eight counts of sexual assault and indecent act, and one count of raping a child between the age of 10 and 16 while under his authority.

The offences allegedly occurred in 1986, 87, 89 and 1990.

The man was refused bail and due to front Goulburn Local Court yesterday.
