Alleged drink-driver crashes into backyard pool of Gold Coast home

A man’s been charged with drink driving after allegedly crashing through a home in Coombabah.

Emergency services were called to a home along Burrendong Road just before 11.00pm, following reports of the incident.

The 35-year-old Carina man was found at the scene, where a Holden Roden ute had crashed through a side fence and into a pool.

Police allege that the driver returned a breath test of 0.194 which is almost 4 times the limit.

He was arrested and has since been charged with driving under the influence of liquor and unlicensed driving.

He is due to face Southport Magistrates Court on November 4.

Luckily, there was no damage to the house.
