Alleged drink-driver leaves trail of destruction at Hope Island
A man has been charged with drink driving after ploughing into vehicles and trees at Hope Island in the early hours of this morning.
Around 1.00am, police were called to Pendraat Parade after a man crashed his vehicle into two parked cars on the street.
The 51-year-old driver was breath tested at the scene, allegedly returning a positive result of 0.128, which is more than double the legal alcohol limit.
Photos posted to social media show the trail of destruction the man left behind, with trees strewn across the ground and wreckage from vehicles scattered along the road.
The man has been issued a notice to appear in court.
