Alleged drink-driver nabbed twice in two hours with toddler in car

A man has been charged after he was allegedly caught drink driving twice in the space of just two hours, both times with a toddler in the car.

The 37-year-old was pulled over at a Random Breath Test site on Oxford Street at Woollahra just before 7.40pm last night.

The man, who was accompanied by a woman and 20-month-old baby, underwent a roadside breath test and allegedly returned a positive result.

He was taken to Waverley Police Station, where he allegedly returned a secondary breath analysis reading of 0.108.

His licence was confiscated and he was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice to appear at Waverley Local Court for the offences of drive with middle range PCA and drive motor vehicle while licence suspended.

However, that didn’t appear to deter him from getting back behind the wheel, with the man pulled over at another RBT on Parramatta Road in Camperdown just after 9.40pm.

He again returned a positive roadside breath test before being taken to Newtown Police Station, where he underwent a secondary breath analysis, returning an alleged reading of 0.083.

The man was again charged with drive with middle range PCA and drive motor vehicle while licence suspended.

He was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear before Newtown Local Court on Monday 24 January 2022.
