Alleged drunk driver ends up in the drink
A WOMAN has launched her car through a fence and into a pond, allegedly while drunk on the Gold Coast.
The woman’s car plunged into the drink behind the Westfield Shopping Centre at Helensvale on Saturday morning.
It’s understood the vehicle was travelling along Town Centre Drive when the female driver lost control about 7am.
The car left the road and smashed through a fence before launching into the water.

It’s understood the female driver failed a roadside breath test.
She was taken to hospital with minor injuries and for further drug and alcohol testing.
The woman is likely to be charged with a number of offences, including drink driving.
Authorities are working to remove the vehicle from the water.
