A man has been charged with high-range drink driving after he was found asleep behind the wheel of his car, which had the engine still running, at Muswellbrook overnight.
Police said that around 6.45pm, officers responded to reports of a car swerving from side to side, and crossing to the wrong side of the road.
A short time later, police found a Ford Ranger ute on Denman Road with the driver allegedly asleep at the wheel.

The driver, a 62-year-old man, was subjected to a breath test which returned a positive reading.
He was taken to Muswellbrook Police Station, where he underwent another test which returned a reading of 0.285.
The man’s licence was suspended on the spot and he was charged with high-range drink-driving.
Police say he’s due to appear at Muswellbrook Local Court on Monday 18 December.
