Alleged pure-bred puppy scammers caught north of the Gold Coast

A PAIR of alleged serial puppy scammers have been arrested in a raid at Logan, north of the Gold Coast.

Police allege the man and woman used classifieds websites to scam 11 pure-bred puppies from breeders by providing fake payment receipts between August 2017 and January this year.

On a separate occasion, the pair allegedly received payment for a puppy which they had advertised online but kept the animal.

It will further be alleged the pair also scammed three cosmetic sellers by providing fake bank transfer receipts of payment.

Detectives yesterday raided a house on Holder Street and seized the cosmetic goods and other items.

The couple, both 28 and from Loganholme, have since been charged with 10 counts of fraud and are due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on February 23.

Investigators believe there could be further victims of similar offences and are encouraging anyone with information to come forward an contact police.
