Alleged serial designer bag thief charged over $50,000 haul
A man has been charged over the alleged theft of more than $50,000 worth of designer bags from retail stores across Sydney and Melbourne.
The 25-year-old was taken into custody by detectives at a hospital on Barker Street in Randwick about 10.30pm last night.
Officers then raided a home in Surry Hills, where they seized several designer bags and items, which they say has an estimated retail value of more than $50,000.
“Police will allege in court that the man stole designer bags and items from stores in Sydney and Melbourne,” NSW police said.
The man, who is a Vietnamese National, has been charged with shoplifting (x5) and goods in personal custody suspected being stolen.
He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today.
