A 13-year-old boy who allegedly ploughed a stolen Range Rover into a ditch in Ashmore has been charged.
The teen is lucky to have walked away from the horror crash, which happened at the intersection of Old Coach Road and Southport Nerang Road around 6.30am on Thursday.
According to police, the boy fled the scene following the accident but was found in bushland nearby a short time later and rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.

The teen’s condition has since improved but he remains in hospital in a serious condition, where he has allegedly been sharing photos and videos of the crash to social media.
The boy, who is reported to be known to police, has since been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, burglary, receiving tainted property, unlicenced driving and careless driving.
He is due to appear in Southport Childrens Court later this month.
Police say the Range Rover was one of two luxury vehicles stolen from a property at Carrara on Tuesday night.
