AMBER ALERT: Kids found “safe and well” in Qld

UPDATE 2PM: TWO children who were reported missing from Emerald have been found safe and well.

The seven-year-old girl and six-year-old boy were safe and well in Gympie a short time ago.

An Amber Alert issued earlier on Friday morning has since been cancelled.

Police have thanked the media and the public for their assistance.

EARLIER: AN Amber Alert has been issued for two missing children who police say may be at significant risk in Queensland.

The seven-year-old girl and six-year-old boy were reported missing from Emerald, west of Rockhampton, around 6.30pm last night.

Police say the kids are believed to be travelling in a blue 2007 Holden Barina with Shea Lum, a 30-year-old man who they say is known to the children.

The vehicle was last seen travelling east on the Capricorn Highway at Emerald and may be heading towards Townsville.

Mr Lum, pictured below, is described as being Pacific Islander in appearance, around 166 centimetres tall with short black hair and brown eyes.

The children are also described as being Pacific Islander in appearance.

Police say the girl is of a medium build, around 100 centimetres tall with brown eyes and black hair, while the boy is around 90 centimetres tall with a slim build, black hair and brown eyes.
