Americans confused after being introduced to the sausage roll
The sausage roll is a much loved treat for most Aussies, but most Americans had never heard of the tasty meat dish.
That was until the New York Times decided the Yanks had been missing out on enjoying the pastry wrapped delight, and so published a recipe for sausage rolls.
However, the writer claimed the dish was British Boxing Day meal, rather than one many Aussies had for lunch today.
“They are always welcome, especially at holiday time…A pleasantly spiced homemade sausage mixture is easy to make up with a pound or two of ground pork shoulder, not too lean,” the story read.
Once published the recipe caused some confusion on social media – from baffled Americans and amused British and Australians.
