ARIA award winner Amy Shark will perform at Metricon Stadium next month, as the Gold Coast SUNS celebrate their first home game since being relocated during the Commonwealth Games.
The much-loved indie pop sensation, who is Gold Coast born and bred, will take to the stage as part of a 45-minute pre-game show for the Round 11 match against the Geelong Cats on Saturday June 2.
GC SUNS CEO Mark Evans said he was excited to announce Shark’s performance.

“AFL is coming back to Metricon Stadium and we want Gold Coasters to get out and support both Amy and the Gold Coast SUNS on June 2, as Footy and a full afternoon of activities for the family return to Metricon Stadium” Evan’s said.
“Amy is a fantastic local Gold Coast talent who has burst onto the scene over the last couple of years and we can’t wait for her to rock Metricon, before the match gets underway.”
Shark, who will return from touring the United States on May 31, is set to bring Metricon Stadium back to life after its recent transformation for the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast where she last performed as part of the Closing Ceremony.
“I can’t wait to perform at Metricon Stadium, the last time I was there was for the Closing Ceremony of the Commonwealth Games and it’s so exciting to be back.” Shark said.
“I’m so proud to be from the Gold Coast and to support our local sports culture and the GC SUNS and Metricon are a big part of that!”
