Anonymous tip leads police to cannabis plants growing in Tallebudgera

AN anonymous call to Crime Stoppers has led police to a stockpile of guns and a large cannabis crop at Tallebudgera on the Gold Coast.

Police from the Gold Coast’s Rapid Action Patrol group allegedly uncovered the rifles and more than a dozen cannabis plants growing in bushland behind the Syndicate Road property on Wednesday morning. Photos below.

A 69-year-old Tallebudgera man was arrested and has since been issued with a notice to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on January 27 in relation to producing dangerous drugs.

Senior Sergeant Mat Kelly, Officer in Charge of RAP said it is unusual to find cannabis plants growing in the wild.

“This find was uncovered after an anonymous call to Crime-stoppers,” Senior Sergeant Kelly said.

We continue to work with the community in removing drugs from our streets and further encourage anyone with information which could assist us in doing so to contact Crime-Stoppers.”

Investigations are continuing.
