New South Wales has seen a slight drop in case numbers overnight, as the state inches towards the peak of the Omicron outbreak.
There were another 34,660 cases diagnosed over the last 24 hours, 14,000 less that yesterday’s report.
Of the new cases picked up overnight, 13,682 of them are from Rapid Antigen Tests and 11,204 of them were recorded over the last week.

Sadly, there were another 20 Covid-19 deaths recorded overnight. It brings the state’s death toll from the virus to 866.
2,650 people are now in hospital with 191 in the ICU.
Victoria recorded another 28,128 infections overnight, along with 13 further deaths.
Their Covid-19 death toll currently sits at 1,694.
