THERE has been a close call on the Gold Coast light rail tracks in Southport this morning after yet another driver took a wrong turn and found themselves driving along the corridor leading up to the Sundale Bridge.
The Bulletin reports the black car appeared to have mounted the track at the crossing at Ada Bell Way – the fifth to do so this year – before driving several hundreds metres and veering off the tracks out of the way of an oncoming tram shortly before 11am.

A road traffic controller took over and drove the vehicle off the tracks safely.
