Another Gold Coast store targeted in smash and grab

Police are investigating an early morning break and enter on the northern Gold Coast, the latest in a string of similar robberies across the city.

Officers were called to a store on Peachey Rd in Ormeau around 2.15am on Thursday morning.

It’s believed up to four people have broken into the store via a rear door.

The thieves have then fled with a quantity of cigarettes.

It’s the fourth similar robbery this week alone where thieves have broken into stores and stolen cigarettes.

A supermarket in Upper Coomera was targeted in the early hours of Monday while supermarkets in Coomera and Ormeau were hit on Tuesday morning.
