Fairfax are reporting Keenan may be a British citizen courtesy of his father, who was born in England in 1943 and emigrated to Australia.
Currently Mr Keenan’s office has not confirmed whether the West Australian MP is British by descent.

The Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull will be waiting for result of his eligibility with baited breath.
If Mr Keenan and Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce are found ineligible it could swing the majority in favour of the opposition in the Senate.
Mr Joyce referred himself to the High Court on Monday after discovering he holds a New Zealand citizenship, but has remained in cabinet until the court reaches a decision.
The High Court has set down a directions hearing for next Thursday.
