Former Cowboys player Anthony Watts is facing further legal woes, after he was charged with assaulting and intimidating an elderly man on the New South Wales far north coast.
The 30-year-old was arrested on Thursday night following a high-speed police chase, after allegedly attacking the 73-year-old in Murwillumbah.
He made a brief appearance on video in Tweed Court this morning, and the the magistrate ordered he be held in custody to reappear on January 4.

He’s due in Southport court in January for another assault case.
