Appeal after woman on mobility scooter attacked in Logan

POLICE are appealing for help to track down two teens who allegedly attacked and robbed a woman on a mobility scooter.

The 60-year-old woman was travelling in her scooter down a bike path at Eagleby on Sunday morning when she passed two boys walking in the opposite direction.

Police said one of the boys struck the woman in the face with a tree branch while the other attempted to steal a bag of medication which was located in a basket on her scooter.

When the woman tried to stop the theft, she was hit in the head again with the branch before managing to get away.

The boys jumped a fence and remain on the run.

They’re described as being aged about 17-years-old with a dark complexion and both wearing black jeans.

One of the boys was wearing a torn white singlet with a picture on the front while the other had on black headwear which police say he pulled down over his face.

The woman was treated for shock and facial injuries before being transported to Logan Community Hospital for observation.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area of Fryar Road between Distillery Road and Dongarven Drive at the time of the attack to come forward.
