Apple profits on the rise thanks to iPhone sales

IF YOU own an iPhone then Apple wants to give you a pat on the back.

The American company, whose market value is the largest in the world, has attributed sales of the device to its huge 31 per cent rise in quarterly profits.

Apple has reported a hike in their bottom line to the tune of $11.1b, with revenue up 22 per cent compared to this time last year.

“We are heading into the holidays with our strongest product lineup yet, including iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, Apple Watch with an expanded lineup of cases and bands, the new iPad Pro and the all-new Apple TV which begins shipping this week,” Chief executive Tim Cook said.
