Armed men on the run after violent burglary at Ashmore

Two men are on the run after forcing their way into an Ashmore home, threatening and bashing the homeowner.

Around 4.00am, a 48-year-old man answered a knock at the front door of his Cotlew Street home only to be confronted by two men.

The homeowner was punched and kicked before being threatened with a knife.

The pair then trashed the home, before making off with money.

The men are described as Caucasian, with one being approximately 194cms tall with a skinny build, shaved head, tattoos on both arms and was wearing a grey hooded jumper.

The second man was described as 184cms tall with a stocky build and was wearing a green fluoro work shirt.

It is believed the men were driving a grey/silver Hilux possibly a dual cab, with a cage in the tray back.

The homeowner was treated for grazes and bruising to his face.
