Armed robbery in Upper Coomera

Investigations are underway following an armed robbery at a bakery in Upper Coomera, in the early hours of this morning.

The men, armed with a mallet and hammer, entered the Old Coach Road business around 1:50am, and made demands for money from an employee.

The 31-year-old male employee who was performing baking duties, directed them to the counter.

The men then obtained an undisclosed amount of cash, before fleeing the scene in an red-coloured old-style hatchback vehicle.

Nobody was injured in the incident.

The description of the man with the mallet, is around 177cms tall with a dark complexion, proportionate build and brown eyes. He wore a black hoodie over his head, and dark bandanna on his face.

The hammer-wielding man is described as Caucasian, also with a proportionate build, wearing a white hoodie and bandanna.

Police will continue to investigate.
