The fire caused significant damage to three demountable classrooms and a storage shed.

Asbestos has also been detected and the area has been cordoned off.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, however a crime scene has been established and will be examined by specialist forensic officers.

The Department of Education said parents had been alerted through social media and email that the school would be closed on Monday.
