Ash Barty gives Australia Fed Cup lead
ASH Barty has put Australia up 2-1 in their Fed Cup World Group clash against the United States, with a straight sets victory over Madison Keys.
Barty steamrolled the world No.17 6-4 6-1 in Asheville, North Carolina, on Sunday (local time).
It wasn’t all smooth sailing for the Australian No.1 though, losing her opening two service games to trail 0-3 in the opening set before rallying back.
Australia needs one victory in the remaining two rubbers for the upset win over the US and to move into the World Group semi-finals against Belarus in April.
