The former world number one is well on her way to reclaiming the title, after cruising into the fourth round of the US Open.
Ash Barty served up an ace-storm to take down Greek Maria Sakkari overnight.
She defeated the rising star with a 7-5 6-3 victory, and says she’s loving playing in the ‘Big Apple’ – especially with the clear support of the crowd.

“This is an incredible court.
“New York is an incredible city and last year I felt like an adopted American playing with Coco in the doubles, so I’m glad you haven’t forgotten.
“Maria is an incredible competitor, a great mover around the court and plays her best tennis when she’s on the move and so it was important for me to try and dictate without going into her patterns.
“It’s tricky to play a friend but I was really happy with the way I able to close out those two sets,” Barty said post match.
This is the second year straight that Barty’s made it through to the last 16, and will face either Qiang Wang or Fiona Ferro on Sunday.
Fellow Aussie Alex Di Minaur has also made it through to the fourth round, after downing 2014 finalist Kei Nishikori in four sets.
Roger Federer, Serena Williams and Karolina Pliskova are other big names to make it through to the last 16.
