Ash cloud forces closure of Bali airport
All flights in and out of Bali have once again been grounded as the ash cloud from a volcanic eruption continues to cause chaos.
According to a statement on Virgin Australia’s website, meteorologists and the Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre have advised airlines that conditions in the vicinity of Denpasar Airport have deteriorated and remain unsafe for flying.
The Denpasar Aerodrome is currently closed with no flights operating in or out.
There is speculation flights will continued to be affected for several days.
Virgin has cancelled all flights due to depart Australia and Denpasar before 6pm AEDT on Thursday.
Jetstar has cancelled all flights scheduled before 5pm AEDT on Thursday.
Both airlines are expected to provide an update later this morning.
