Taylor has boasted an impressive first season, playing in 22 games, scoring 73 points from five tries, 26 goals – and an unforgettable match-winning gold point field goal against South Sydney.
Coach Neil Henry believes that Taylor, a contender for the Dally M Rookie of the year, will play a critical role in eastablishing a bright future for the club.
“I’m very pleased personally to know Ash will be with us for at least the next two seasons but it’s great for the Titans fans particularly as they can see a very good nucleus of a team for the future coming together. Ash has developed a great rapport with our members and fans,” he said.
“It means the club has great depth in halves with Ash, Kane Elgey and Tyrone Roberts as well who also had a very good first season with the Titans.
“Not only has Ash worked hard on the field and handled the physical pressure and responsibility of being a young playmaker in a crucial position but he has worked hard for the club off the field in the community, which is a great credit to him.”
Taylor says he is proud of his achievements, and wants to show the Titans how thankful he is to be there.
“I’m very proud of what I have achieved this year and I’ve learned a lot in my first season in the NRL, not just on the field but how to prepare and handle the physical side of the weekly grind of the game. I can’t wait to get stuck into pre-season and progress further next season,” he said.
“It’s a great club and the playing group is really close and I reckon we can achieve quite a lot in the next two seasons.”
The Dally M Awards will be held Wednesday the 28th of September.
