Attempted murder charge after Qld man doused in fuel, set alight

Two men have been charged with attempted murder after allegedly dousing another man with accelerant before setting him alight.

The horror attack happened at a unit along Wilton Street in Woolloongabba on Monday.

The victim, a 39-year-old man, suffered significant burns to his head and body, and was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

His alleged attackers, two men aged 41 and 43, fled the scene.

They have since been arrested and charged with attempted murder, enter dwelling with intent to commit an indictable offence and extortion.

Both men have been remanded in custody and are expected to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court again on May 23.

Police allege that the men are known to each other.
