Cops hunt second man wanted over Helensvale stabbing

UPDATE: Police are still searching for a man wanted over the alleged stabbing and attempted murder of two men at a house in Helensvale last night.

Police were called to the house on Latrobe Street just before 10pm where they found two men with multiple stab wounds.

They are now in a stable condition, recovering in Gold Coast University Hospital with stab wounds to their arms and upper bodies.

A 57-year-old Southport man was arrested and charged with attempted murder, wounding and enter with intent, however, police say they are still searching for a second man.

David Charles Brown, 50, is described as being Caucasian in appearance, 180 centimetres tall with a slim build and dark brown hair.

Pictured above, he is known to frequent the Southport area and may be armed.

Anyone who sees Mr Brown is urged not to approach him but to contact police immediately.

Investigations are continuing.

EARLIER: A Gold Coast man has been charged with attempted murder after a violent confrontation at Helensvale.

Police say two men went to a home in Latrobe Avenue just before 10pm on Wednesday night.

A fight erupted with two other men at the home who were both stabbed.

The 46 and 48-year-olds are in a stable condition after being treated in Gold Coast University Hospital for stab wounds to their arms and upper bodies.

Police say the men all know each other.

A 57-year-old Southport man has been charged with attempted murder and will appear in Southport Magistrates Court on Thursday; police are still looking for the other man.
