A man will return to court this morning, on trial for the attempted murder of a female police officer in Surfers Paradise more than two years ago.
Daniel Luke White Mayne is currently in court in Brisbane, where yesterday he pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder charge.
Constable Diane Dorothy Squires was allegedly trying to arrest Mr White Mayne in a car park in Surfers Paradise back in January 2017, because her and her partner believed he was carrying stolen items.

A struggle then allegedly broke out, before Mr White Mayne grabbed a gun from his bag.
Constable Squires then shot Mr White Mayne multiple times, including in the scrotum.
The court has heard Mr White Mayne tried to scare her and get away rather than try to kill her.
Body camera footage from the incident records the sound of multiple shots, though it’s not confirmed who shot first.
The trial continues in Brisbane Supreme Court today.
